About four hundred delegates from Vietnam and twenty five other member countries of the International Pepper Community are attending the International Pepper Conference 2019 in the southern province of Ba Ria – Vung Tau.
At the three-day event, opened on tuesday, participants mentioned problems relevant to pepper production, process and commerce to higher meet the worldwide market’s demand.
The event features conferences of exporters and importers, conferences on cultivation techniques, exhibitions of exporting and importing firms, and field journeys to pepper farms within the province.
During the event, the International Pepper Community can award 5 farmers who are recognised as outstanding pepper growers of 2018 by the International Pepper Community. Meanwhile, 5 firms also will be worthy for their innovation in pepper production and process.
The conference takes place amid unfavourable factors facing the world’s pepper sector, together with regularly declining costs, international money crisis, abnormal climatic conditions, uncontrolled diseases on plants, consumers’ growing necessities, rising production prices and unpredictable worth developments.
